Answer: Characteristics of a Christian sermon: it is based on the Bible (a biblical text as its foundation), has a clear theme and objective, is faithful to the Word, edifying and applicable to life, conducted with clarity and dependence on God. Main parts: (1) Introduction — awakens interest and presents the theme; (2) Body/development — explains the biblical text and its points (usually 2 to 4 divisions), with explanation, argumentation, and illustrations; (3) Application — shows how to live out the message; (4) Conclusion/appeal — summarizes and invites a decision. — A good sermon starts from the Bible and moves from the introduction to the application, leading the listener to a decision — it is not just about speaking eloquently, it is about communicating the Word.
