- Know and understand the different classes of fires;
- Know and understand the different classes of fire extinguishers and for which types of fires they should be used;
- Where can fire extinguishers be purchased?
- How and where should a fire extinguisher be installed?
- Explain the difference between a vehicle fire extinguisher and a conventional one;
- Know when to give up trying to put out a fire and evacuate.
- About smoke and carbon monoxide detectors:
- What is a smoke detector and how does it work?
- Where should smoke detectors be installed in a house?
- What is a carbon monoxide detector and how does it work?
- Where should carbon monoxide detectors be installed in a house?
- Carry out two of the following activities:
- Visit a Fire Department and learn about the firefighting routine and the equipment used;
- Organize a fire drill at your club, church, school or other building;
- Carry out an inspection of your church's fire extinguishers, checking the levels, whether they are installed correctly, well-identified and within their expiration date;
- Have a certificate from a fire brigade course;
- Provide replacement batteries for smoke detectors to your neighborhood or community;
- Help a person make their home safe against fires;
- Take part in a fire safety awareness campaign in your neighborhood or community.
