Requirements

  1. Describe, in writing or orally, how the following items contribute to studying:
    • Choosing the ideal place and environment
    • Use of dictionaries and encyclopedias
    • Mastery of study time
    • Bibliographic research as a complement to study
    • Assimilation and memorization techniques

Answer: 1) Choosing the ideal place and environment: a quiet, well-lit, ventilated, and organized location favors concentration and reduces distractions, making studying more efficient. 2) Use of dictionaries and encyclopedias: they help to understand the meaning of words and to deepen the topics, clearing up doubts and enriching the content studied. 3) Mastery of study time: planning fixed schedules, dividing the content, and taking breaks prevents fatigue and procrastination, making studying more productive. 4) Bibliographic research as a complement to study: consulting several reliable sources (books, articles, support materials) broadens knowledge and confirms the information learned. 5) Assimilation and memorization techniques: summaries, mind maps, spaced repetition, highlighting, and teaching the content to another person help to understand and better retain what was studied. — A good environment, good sources, organized time, and memorization techniques are the pillars of efficient studying.

  2. Make a sheet with your study schedule and follow it for one month. (The schedule should contain the dates of the month and be divided by weeks. Fill in the sheet with the time to be spent on the following activities):
    • Sleep
    • School
    • Transportation
    • Meals
  3. Describe, in writing or orally, ways that help the student to concentrate while studying:
    • At home
    • At the library
    • At school
    • Study
    • Leisure, social activities, and sports
    • Others

Answer: 1) At home: choose a fixed and quiet corner, away from the TV and the phone, and let the family know your study time so as not to be interrupted. 2) At the library: take advantage of the quiet environment, sit far from sources of distraction, and use the available material to support your study. 3) At school: pay attention in class, take notes, and clear up doubts on the spot with the teacher. 4) Studying: set goals for each session, study in short blocks, and take brief breaks to maintain focus and performance. 5) Leisure, social activities, and sports: balance them with study — rest and exercise improve concentration, but excess gets in the way; set aside time for each. 6) Others: sleep well, eat healthily, drink water, and avoid studying tired or in a hurry. — Concentration improves by reducing distractions, organizing goals, and balancing study, rest, and leisure.

  4. Demonstrate the best posture for studying and list which positions the student should avoid while studying.
  5. Present 5 tips for the student who wants to get the top grade on tests and assignments.
  6. Present 5 things the student can do to reduce reading time and better assimilate the content studied.
  7. What activities help the student improve their learning ability?

Answer: Activities that help: reading frequently, making summaries and mind maps, teaching what you learned to another person, solving exercises, sleeping well (sleep consolidates memory), doing physical exercise, eating healthily, and maintaining curiosity by relating the content to everyday life. — Learning improves with practice, repetition, good sleep, exercise, and by teaching what you know to someone.

  8. Write an essay of 25 to 30 lines on one of the following themes:
    • Where will I be and what will I be doing 7 years from now?
    • What will I do to pursue the profession I have chosen?
    • What do I still want to learn and how can I achieve this goal?

Answer: Writing about one's own future helps the student to define goals and to practice essay writing.

  9. Know the difference between a summary and a review, presenting both in outline form.

Answer: Summary: it is the ABRIDGED and objective presentation of the main ideas of a text, without opinion — it merely condenses the content. Review: it is a text that summarizes AND EVALUATES the work, bringing the critical opinion of the writer (strengths, weaknesses, and a recommendation). In short: the summary only tells what the work says; the review tells and also comments on/critiques it. — A summary condenses; a review condenses and gives an opinion — that is the essential difference between the two.

  10. Read a book of your choice that deals with study techniques and methodologies and present an outline of at least 50 lines.
