Requirements

  1. Write from memory the complete alphabet, uppercase and lowercase, of 2 of the following types of fonts:
    • Gothic
    • Times New Roman
    • Italic
    • Arial
    • Calibri
    • Verdana

    Answer: Practicing the alphabet in different fonts (with and without serifs) develops the hand and the eye for making beautiful signs and posters.

  2. Demonstrate the different types of letter sizes and pens to be used when making a poster.
  3. Cite at least 4 basic principles for making an attractive and varied poster.

    Answer: Quatro princípios para um cartaz atraente e diversificado: 1) Legibilidade/contraste: letras grandes e cor que contrasta com o fundo, lidas a distância. 2) Hierarquia visual: título maior em destaque, subtítulo e texto menores, guiando o olhar do mais importante ao detalhe. 3) Equilíbrio e espaço em branco: distribuir bem os elementos, sem amontoar; deixar respiro evita poluição visual. 4) Unidade/harmonia de cores e fontes: paleta limitada (2 a 3 cores) e poucos tipos de letra mantêm o cartaz coeso. Extras: simplicidade (uma mensagem central) e uso de imagem/ilustração relevante para chamar atenção.

  4. Make at least 3 posters demonstrating the variety of font sizes to be used. Choose a department of the church to carry out this task.
  5. Make 5 posters with different themes from our current times, where they will be evaluated according to the following criteria: neatness, creativity and types of lettering used.
  6. Practice all the letters of our alphabet accurately until you demonstrate mastery of it.
