On Sabbath, September 5, 2026, the Seventh-day Adventist Church officially launched OneVoice27 around the world, opening a year of preparation ahead of a global evangelistic emphasis planned for September 2027, when the church marks 2,000 years since Jesus' baptism. In Brazil, about 1,600 Pathfinders followed the launch at the 11th Camporee of the Southwest São Paulo Conference (APSo), called “O Desejado” (The Desired One), in Araçoiaba da Serra, São Paulo state, on a morning that ended with eight baptisms, according to the Notícias Adventistas news portal. As of October 6, the South American Division had not published a OneVoice27 program designed specifically for Pathfinder Clubs.
What happened at the OneVoice27 global launch?
The worldwide launch of OneVoice27 took place on Sabbath, September 5, 2026, a date General Conference President Erton Köhler had put before church leaders at Spring Meeting in April. The initiative had already been voted at the October 2025 Annual Council, according to the Adventist News Network (ANN). For launch day, the General Conference hoped 1 million Adventists would share, on their own profiles and tagged #allthingsnew, stories of how Jesus renews lives, tedNEWS of the Trans-European Division reported.
In South America, things got moving earlier. The headquarters of the South American Division (SAD) launched the initiative for its staff on Thursday, September 3, and that week Adventist offices and institutions in seven South American countries held special worship services, Notícias Adventistas reported. “Each person will be able to take part in this effort with their own culture, in their own way,” said Pastor Stanley Arco, president of the Adventist Church in the SAD (free translation from Portuguese).
How did the launch unfold at the O Desejado Pathfinder camporee in Brazil?
The 11th Camporee of the Southwest São Paulo Conference opened on Friday, September 4, at the Adventist Training Center in Araçoiaba da Serra, with 1,600 Pathfinders camping under the theme “O Desejado” (The Desired One), centered on Jesus, according to Notícias Adventistas.
On Sabbath, the camporee's second day, the morning program drew about 1,600 Pathfinders and included the OneVoice27 launch, which was happening at the same hour in other countries. Pastor Anderson Coelho then started from well-known brands to ask what a Pathfinder's brand would be, and the reflection pointed to Christ. Eight people were baptized as the morning came to a close. In the afternoon, an inflatable planetarium counted toward the Creationism honor.
What is OneVoice27, and what does the name mean?
OneVoice27 is the Seventh-day Adventist Church's worldwide initiative to rally members, churches and institutions around a single message about Jesus, with special weight on the digital space. Inside the church, its full name is OneVoice27: Mission for All. According to the SAD, the “one voice” stands for a single church speaking across differences of culture and language. The 27 points to 2027.
The SAD guide describes three pillars. The first, the project, envisions a church on a shared calendar, with Jesus as the central theme and every platform (social media, publications, radio and television) serving the biblical message. Preparation runs through prayer and the study of Daniel and Revelation. The purpose is to involve every member and turn each church into a Bible school, with harvest events in September 2027. For the general public, the General Conference chose the theme “All Things New: Hope Starts Here,” inspired by Revelation 21:5; in the SAD, the campaign is called “Jesus faz tudo novo” (Jesus makes all things new).

Jesus' baptism, told in Luke 3:21-22, opens His public ministry, and the traditional Adventist reading places it in A.D. 27. In a September 24, 2026, article for Notícias Adventistas, theologian Jônatas Leal, rector of the Latin American Theological Seminary (SALT), backs the date with two calculations: the fifteenth year of Tiberius (Luke 3:1), read by the Jewish way of counting reigns, and the 69 prophetic weeks of Daniel 9 (483 years) counted from 457 B.C. Leal acknowledges that Christians have no consensus on the exact dates of Jesus' life.
What is the OneVoice27 timeline in South America?
Under the SAD guide, the Division sets the strategy, while Unions, Conferences, Missions and local churches carry it out, each in its own setting. The General Conference is preparing the 2027 Missionary Book of the Year, on Daniel and Revelation, with the English edition due in October 2026.

How did Cuba, Zambia and ADRA join OneVoice27?
In Cuba, the evangelistic caravan “Una Voz que Reaviva” (A Voice That Revives) visited 12 of Cuba's 15 provinces, and along the route 12 congregations gained the status of organized churches, which took the national count to 402, Cuban Union president Pastor Joel Aldo Pérez said in a report by the Inter-American Division on September 29.
Zambia moved ahead of the global calendar: the Southern Zambia Union Conference launched the project on January 31, 2026, under the motto “Mission for All,” according to ANN. In that report, Harrington Akombwa, president of the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID), cited about 25 million Adventist members worldwide, 4.3 million of them in the SID. In July, the same Union's youth director, Highten Hamweene, addressed young people in Lusaka, according to the SID news service: “There has never been a better time for young people to transform their smartphones into pulpits.”
ADRA International President Paulo Lopes announced a Global Day of Compassion and the devotional “Serving Like Jesus: Love in Action.” In Mozambique, the closing afternoon of Impact Mozambique 2026, on May 23 in Maputo, had already been given over to OneVoice27, according to the Adventist Review.
What does OneVoice27 change for the Pathfinder Club?
As of October 6, 2026, the SAD had not published a OneVoice27 program of its own for Pathfinder Clubs. The official guide does not mention the club, and a search of the SAD Pathfinder Ministry website turned up no material on the subject. At the General Conference, the call to the younger generation is explicit: at Spring Meeting, Vice President Audrey Andersson listed the Youth department among the departments weaving the initiative into their work, and Busi Khumalo, director of Youth Ministries, the area the club belongs to, put it plainly: “The objectives and goals of OneVoice27 will not be realized unless our young people are mobilized to participate in the mission of the church.”
Some dates on the calendar are already familiar to clubs, such as Impacto Esperança on September 11, 2027. SAD Communication Director Pastor Jorge Rampogna also pointed to the Ten Days of Prayer and Holy Week as moments in 2027 when the digital mobilization will go hand in hand with church programs.
