Every start of the year brings the same question to a club's leadership: which dates can we not afford to miss? Some are fixed and repeat every year; others are movable and shift depending on the calendar. So you don't get lost, we've gathered the main Pathfinder dates for 2026 here, always explaining the rule behind each one — that way, even when the year changes, you'll know how to calculate the right date. All the information comes from official Adventist and government sources, and we're upfront about what varies from region to region.

The dates every club needs on the calendar

Organizing the club's year starts with marking the right dates. Some of these dates are fixed (they always fall on the same day of the month, every year), while others are movable (they shift depending on the year, but follow a clear rule). Understanding this difference avoids confusion and helps you plan meetings, rehearsals, and events well in advance.

The table below lists the main Pathfinder dates for 2026, along with the rule behind each one and an important note. Right after, we break down each item in detail — especially the movable dates, which tend to raise the most questions.

One note up front: beyond these national and worldwide dates, each Conference, Mission, or Union has its own regional calendar, with camporees, adventurer rallies, and conventions on dates that vary by field. You can check those regional dates on the Church's official events portal (link in the final section) and on your local field's website.

World Pathfinder Day: September 19, 2026

World Pathfinder Day is the most important date on the movement's calendar. It's celebrated annually on the third Saturday of September — which is why it's a movable date, shifting from year to year, but always following this same rule. In 2026, the third Saturday of September falls on September 19 (a Saturday).

To calculate it for any year, just count the Saturdays in September: the third one is World Day. Remembering the rule ("3rd Saturday of September") is more useful than memorizing the date itself, since it holds true forever. In 2026, the Pathfinder movement turns 76 years old, counting from the Club's official founding in 1950.

The official 2026 theme is "Speak, Lord!", inviting Pathfinders to listen for God's voice — a reference to the story of the young Samuel. The official 2026 logo has already been released by the South American Division (SAD) on the Adventist downloads portal. The sermon and full program are usually published closer to September, so it's worth checking the official portal in the weeks beforehand.

How to calculate it every year: World Pathfinder Day is always the 3rd Saturday of September. Count the Saturdays in the month and take the third one. In 2026, that day is September 19.

National Pathfinder Day: September 20 (fixed date)

Unlike World Day, National Pathfinder Day in Brazil is a fixed date: it always falls on September 20, every year. It was established by Law No. 14,665, of September 4, 2023, which sets the annual observance on that day. It's federal law, meaning September 20 is officially on the country's calendar.

In 2026, this creates a nice sequence: World Day falls on Saturday, 9/19 (3rd Saturday), and National Day on Sunday, 9/20 (fixed date). Two consecutive days of celebration — a great window for the club to show up at church and in the community.

Adventist press coverage describes Brazil as the first country to create an official national date honoring Pathfinders. It's worth noting that this is a claim from press coverage; what's fully confirmed in legislative sources is the essential fact: the date of September 20, set by federal law.

"The National Pathfinder Day is hereby established, to be observed annually on September 20."Law No. 14,665, of September 4, 2023 (official text)

Scarf Week: the week leading up to World Day

Scarf Week has no fixed date of its own on the calendar — and that's exactly where a lot of people get confused. It's always the week leading up to World Pathfinder Day. Since World Day in 2026 falls on Saturday, 9/19, Scarf Week is the week before that date.

It's a preparatory period during which Pathfinders wear the scarf as a symbol of dedication to service, using the opportunity to talk about the Pathfinders' message and purpose with peers, at school, and in the community. It's the warm-up leading into the big weekend celebration.

Since Scarf Week "travels with" World Day, you never need to memorize a separate date: whenever you know the 3rd Saturday of September, you'll know the week right before it is Scarf Week.

World Adventurer Day and early-year dates

Many clubs also look after the Adventurers (the younger age group). World Adventurer Day has an official suggested date of May 16, 2026 (Saturday), corresponding to the third Saturday of May, and is usually celebrated together with Children's Sabbath. The announced theme is "Walking with Jesus" — since this announcement came from regional leadership, it's worth confirming the wording and final date in the official SAD kit before printing materials.

Early in the year, the PAM Conventions (Pathfinder and Adventurer Ministry) also take place — training and leader-consecration events. In 2026 they were held in the first quarter across various Conferences and Unions, with dates that vary by local field — there is no single national date for them.

A common question concerns the "enrollment date" or the club's "start of the year." The honest answer here is: there is no single national date. Annual planning and the enrollment period are set by each Conference or local field (typically between January and March), when the club receives the official calendar for its region.

Adventurer dates and PAM Convention dates can vary by region. Always confirm with your Conference or Union before finalizing the club's calendar.

South American Camporee: it's in 2027, not 2026

This point deserves a highlighted warning, because it causes a lot of confusion: the 6th South American Pathfinder Camporee does NOT happen in 2026. It was originally planned for 2026, but was rescheduled to January 2027, due to an adjustment in the Church's events calendar.

The Camporee will be held at Parque do Peão, in Barretos (SP), in two sessions with equivalent programming: the Alpha session, January 5-10, 2027, and the Omega session, January 12-17, 2027. Each participant chooses only one of the two sessions. The theme is "Always a Pathfinder", with an expected turnout of around 120,000 participants from eight South American countries.

Registration is handled by clubs, through directors, via the Club Management System (SGC) and the official Guidelines Manual. Fees vary by union and country, so avoid relying on loose figures: always confirm in the official Manual and the SGC. In short: in 2026, your club can already start preparing for the Camporee — but the event itself only takes place in 2027.

Movable dates to watch: Easter and Holy Week

Beyond the movement's own dates, some dates on the Christian calendar affect clubs' schedules early in the year — mainly because they involve holidays and long weekends, which many clubs use for camping trips and special programming.

In 2026, Easter falls on Sunday, April 5, Good Friday (a national holiday) on April 3, and Holy Thursday on April 2. Since these are movable dates, they change every year — so it's worth checking them at the start of each year when putting together the club's calendar.

When planning camping trips and meetings, cross-checking these dates with your church's and region's calendar helps avoid schedule conflicts and makes better use of holidays for outdoor activities.
