September rolls around, and one date lights up every Pathfinder's heart: World Pathfinder Day. It's when clubs all over the world, on the same weekend, take to the streets, fill the churches, and show their community who they are and what they believe. In 2026, this celebration falls on Saturday, September 19, carrying the official theme "Speak, Lord!". Here we've gathered the exact date, the rule that makes it change every year, the theme, Brazil's National Day, and practical ideas for your club to celebrate — all checked against official Adventist sources.

When is World Pathfinder Day in 2026?

The direct answer: in 2026, World Pathfinder Day is celebrated on Saturday, September 19. Mark it on your club's calendar — it's the big day for Pathfinders around the world.

But why September 19, and not some other date? Because World Pathfinder Day is a movable date: the Adventist Church's official rule is to celebrate it on the third Saturday of September, every year. Since the first Saturday of September 2026 falls on the 5th, the third Saturday lands on the 19th.

That's why the date shifts from year to year, but the logic stays the same. Once you remember the "third Saturday of September" rule, you'll never have to wonder again when World Pathfinder Day falls — just count the Saturdays of the month.

Golden rule: World Pathfinder Day always falls on the third Saturday of September. In 2026, that Saturday is the 19th.

The 2026 theme: "Speak, Lord!"

Every year has a motto that guides the celebration. The official theme for World Pathfinder Day 2026 is "Speak, Lord!", released together with the year's logo by the South American Division (SAD).

The invitation behind the theme is beautifully simple: learning to hear the voice of God. It evokes the biblical story of Samuel, the boy who, while still young, learned to answer God's call — an example of listening, prayer, meditating on Scripture, and silence. It's an invitation for every Pathfinder to slow down amid the rush and open their heart to listen.

An honest note: the theme clearly points to the story of Samuel, but we did not find, in the official materials published so far, a chapter-and-verse citation presented as the year's official key text. So we've chosen not to pin down a specific verse as "the theme verse" — when the full program is released, it will include the exact reference. Keep an eye on the official downloads portal.

The 2026 date is also special because it marks the 76th anniversary of the Pathfinder movement (1950-2026). In other words, more than seven decades of adventure, service, and faith, still celebrated every third Saturday of September.

World Day vs. National Day: understanding the difference

A lot of people mix these up, so it's worth clarifying: there are two dates close together, and they are not the same thing.

The first is World Pathfinder Day, celebrated worldwide on the third Saturday of September (September 19 in 2026). The second is National Pathfinder Day, exclusive to Brazil and fixed on September 20. In 2026, they fall on consecutive days: World Day on Saturday the 19th and National Day on Sunday the 20th.

National Day was established by federal law: Law No. 14,665, of September 4, 2023, signed by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and published in Brazil's Federal Official Gazette on September 5, 2023. It grew out of Bill 3,936/2019, authored by then-congressman Tadeu Alencar. September 20 was chosen based on how Pathfinders are celebrated in other countries.

You may come across the claim that Brazil was "the first country in the world" to create an official national date for Pathfinders. This claim appears in Adventist press coverage, but we could not confirm it in official legislative records — so we're presenting it as a press claim, not a verified legislative fact. What is official and beyond question is the date itself: September 20, by force of federal law.

Two dates, one spirit: World Day (3rd Saturday of September, the 19th in 2026) brings together Pathfinders worldwide; National Day (September 20, by federal law) is Brazil's official tribute.

How to celebrate: Scarf Week and the official program

World Day doesn't stand alone: it's usually the high point of a lead-up. Before it comes Scarf Week, a period when Pathfinders wear their scarf throughout the day as a symbol of dedication to service and as a way to start conversations about what being a Pathfinder means. Since Scarf Week leads into World Day, it's also movable — it follows the third Saturday of September.

For the celebration itself, the Adventist Church publishes official program materials and a sermon every year. The right place to download them is the Church's official downloads portal (downloads.adventistas.org) and the SAD file server. In 2026, the logo for the "Speak, Lord!" theme has already been released; the full sermon and detailed program script, however, tend to come out closer to September. If you look now and don't find them yet, that's normal — check back in the weeks leading up to the date.

While the full 2026 materials aren't out yet, you can draw inspiration from past editions. In 2025, the theme was "Pathfinders with Purpose," the year the movement marked its 75th anniversary. In 2024, the theme was "Jesus Camps with You!". The sermons and scripts from those years are published on official channels and help illustrate the format of the celebration.

In practice, clubs tend to mark the date with a special Sabbath service, unit presentations, marching drills, a parade through town, community service projects, and open invitations for new families to get to know the club. It's a day to joyfully show what Pathfinders do all year round.

Recent theme history

For those who like to track how the celebrations have evolved, here's a summary of the official themes from recent years that we were able to confirm through Adventist sources. Years before 2024 exist, but we haven't included them here because we did not officially verify them in this research.

Organize your club's celebration with Desbravai

Such an important date deserves good preparation — and that's where Desbravai comes in to help with the club's day-to-day. It doesn't replace the SGC, the church's official system where official records and enrollments live. Desbravai handles the rest: everything that today lives in spreadsheets, paper, and WhatsApp groups.

For World Pathfinder Day, you can use the club calendar to schedule Scarf Week, the special service, and the parade, all in one calendar the whole board can see together. You can put together ready-made graphics to promote the date on social media and invite the community. And you can prepare a quiz (Bible or honors-based, with a live presentation mode for the big screen) to liven up the program and test what the group has learned.

All of this is free and works on phone and computer alike. That way, your club arrives at the third Saturday of September with the celebration organized, promoted, and ready to shape the life of yet another generation of Pathfinders.
